Will December 2012 simply mark the end of the Mayan long calendar, or the end of life as we know it? With a little help from Hollywood, 2012 seems more pseudoscience than reality ... but it's hard to ignore the signs.

Are solar storms spinning a vortex of death?

Some scientists, fringe and otherwise, claim that heightened solar activity - as with the solar storms predicted to happen between 2011 and 2012 - “trigger conflict, wars and death.”

Professor Raymond Wheeler studied solar activity and how it impacted human behaviors. Using his own research combined with the work of others, Wheeler correlated the cycle of solar storms with horrific human behavior on earth, and warned the worst was yet to come in 2011-2012.

Wheeler claimed solar events dating back 2,500 years support his theories, with mankind adversely reacting to the sun’s polar shifts.
